A new blog for a new year, it's a tradition. Please relink!

| The year 2008 was full of surprise and changes. It has taught me much. It taught me that I can’t ever allow anything to hold me down. Trivial matters should never stand in the way. And most of all, I learnt that thinking happy thoughts was the way to go and that anything is possible (although it may sound clichéd) as long as I believe in myself and say- “I can do it!”
This year started off with deciding not to go to school (heehee), and instead going on a vacation and it ended off nicely with me being on a vacation as well. I have traveled to many places this year and it has been very eye opening. (i.e. Super Star Virgo, Jakarta, Seoul, Osaka, Medan, Batam, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Toronto and presently in Vancouver)Changing schools twice wasn’t easy. Your heart pounding, and being so scared of what the future holds for me wasn’t easy as well. I am glad that at the end of the day, I spent a good 8 months in CJC, it has been pleasurable and 1T12 has been more than I can ever ask for. The trip to Betesda Orphanage in Batam was definitely enriching and has bonded us. I look forward to visiting the kids again. This year has been significant in many areas in my life and I know that those friends who I was close to, are those friends whom I will keep for a very long time. Kisses to all of you, and extra to Khym, Mel, Dee, Debs, V, Tim, Andrew, Marcus, Guan, Antonia, Sarah, Bet, Val, Rachel and Hannah. And a thousand more, to my family, Suzi & Stephanie, Clarissa Denise Chan and Ee Ling! One year ago, my new year resolutions were to bring only wonderful memories from 07 to 2008, to have a happy 17th and lastly, to never forget those who have made an impact in my life- big or small. Who knows what 2009 will bring? I believe that with time, 2009 will reveal its secrets and that through it all, God will be with me, in every step of the way. & with that, I ask for: 1. 2009 to be a very good year2. To motivate myself to study hard so as to get into UBC or SFU or an Ivy League school3. To know my limits and not to ever push it4. To remain in constant contact with those I love. Here's to making greater memories in 2009
| Toronto was a refreshing change compared to the past week in America. And after a 3 hour plane ride, I walked through the customs, got my student pass and I am offically a student in Canada! Without the wind, Toronto was a lot warmer than I had expected.. especially since Google had claimed that it would be -10 degree celsius! Then again, I am ever grateful for this nice weather because I have fallen ill- complete with a stuffy nose, terrible cough and worse still.. I have lost my voice! We visited the border in between Ontario and New York (!!!), the Flower Clock and Niagara Falls. We also went for mass at St Michael's Cathedral, which had beautiful architecture and we went to Eaton Centre and the shopping malls nearby for lunch at Hard Rock Cafe. Flower Clock

O yes, my mum gave me a Christmas present! It's a lovely coat from Betsey Johnson! It's so cute, the buttons are HEART shaped (my fav shape EVER!!!). &, I might be getting a Blackberry and a new laptop (Macbook Air pls) from my dad Oh happy day!
& tmr.. we're off to our last stop for this trip- Vancouver!
| We spent Christmas in Vegas. & as usual, we stayed at The Venetian. I like it, except that it was so crowded!! The first day (we reached at night), we had dinner, really gd Baileys milkshake and, we watched Mystère, a production by Cirque du Soleil. It is combines powerful athleticism, high-energy acrobatics and inspiring imagery. It was awesome!
The next day, we went for mass at the cathedral and did a whole lot of shopping- my mum and aunt left the LV store with 3 handbags and since this is how it ALWAYS works, I went for some serious retail therapy and left the Alexander McQueen store with a huge smile plastered on my face. Today, we went for a walk by the swimming pool and park.
After which, Gregory and I went shopping in the Palazzo. & with bags full of 3.1 Philip Lim, Coach, Marc Jacobs, Banana Republic and David & Goliath, I finished my Christmas shopping for myself (heehee). In the evening, we watched Love, another production by Cirque du Soleil, which celebrates the musical legacy of The Beatles. It was grrrreat(!!!) Tmr, we'll be off to Toronto!
| A 3 day stay in San Francisco resulted in me finding the BEST place to shop ever- Union Square .I wanted to go for the city tour but because of the weather conditions (I hate the rain!!!) and since no one else wanted, we ended up with bags full of Juicy Couture, Victoria Secret (very sexy), Christian Dior, Chanel, Betsey Johnson (accesories were so cute!!!), Marc Jacobs and yummy Miette cupcakes (ginger cupcake with cream cheese icing ). You've gotta love Saks Fifth Avenue & Neiman Marcus
Chinatown
San Francisco Port(which I visited all by myself since everyone got up so late!) & tomorrow, we're off to Las Vegas!
